2021 Planning Commission Report

A relatively “quiet” year for the Planning Commission, as we continue to review the town’s Unified Development Bylaw (adopted 03/16/2018), to ensure accuracy and make changes as appropriate; either to continue to adapt to the best practices for the town, or to comply with any state laws enacted.

We want to thank Mickey Esposito for his time on the commission, as he resigned from the board in May due to becoming a new father and other commitments. The board welcomed Jason “Jay” Miller as our new member in June. He is a valued addition to our existing team; Roberta Gillott, Howard Remick, and Kim Willey.

Our focus will be to continue to identify any ambiguity in the bylaws, to ensure ease of understanding for both the community and the Development Review Board. It also makes enforcement much easier for our Zoning Administrator, Chris Brimmer.

We would encourage all interested community members to attend our meetings. We address the fundamental issues that impact our community, such as housing needs, environmental protection, and keeping the vision of the Waterford Town Plan in focus.

Our meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, starting at 7:00 PM. Location and agenda information can be found at the town offices in Lower Waterford, and on the town website at External link opens in new tab or windowwww.waterfordvt.gov.
